Though things look bleak for the Sharks right now, there is some hope for the future.

Are they getting rid of Doug Wilson? No more long term NMC free contracts

Hmmm - I wouldn't say "no more"...as much "use them sparingly and smarter". The current contracts with NMC/NTCs will no doubt prolong any reset/rebuild/whatever.... I wouldn't say that they're taboo.

The Sharks current woes are ultimately (imho) about a rapidly declining core and a neglected farm system.

DW trading away too many high draft picks, and wiffing on a few important picks are what make me question his ability as a GM. Note, I'm not on the "fire DW" bandwagon. I think he's done enough good to warrant an opportunity to fix the team; but I can also see the argument to bring in a new GM with a new direction.
